How to Get Your Children to Clean Their Room Walnut Creek CA
Children's rooms - the place where your feet are met with toy cars, plastic army men, legos, and those sharp tiaras that always manage to poke up between your toes. Holding your language, at such a moment of pain, can be extremely difficult. Just walk away, with your battered, toy-indented feet, and follow these steps.

How to Get Your Children to Clean Their Room
Steps
- Once the pain has passed, make a game out of cleaning their room. This can be done, even if you have one child.
- Go into their room, and sit on the end of their bed, tell them, "1, 2, 3, go, red toys get put away."
- Once that's done, say "1, 2, 3, go, orange toys get put away."
- Keep repeating this color process, until the room is clean.
- Hopefully the room will be tidy.
Video
{{#ev:5min|77388902}} In this video, Kimberley Blaine from The Go-To Mom shares some useful tips on how to get your young child to clean up, as well as some creative advice on how to make cleaning a more social and enjoyable chore for your children.Tips
- It's easier to go through the colors of the rainbow, that way you don't find yourself back tracking as to what colors they've picked up. Red, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown, Black, Gray, and white (even though not all of these colors are in a rainbow, it helps to have a system).
- For a multi-colored toy, tell your children that the toy is special because it can go into any color category.
- This is also great for smaller children also, they will have fun learning their colors.
- If your children are older and you have a harder time using games to get their rooms clean, sit down and explain to them how the family is a team and each part of the team is responsible for part of the home and keeping it neat. Make sure they have the storage they need to keep their stuff picked up.
- If all else fails, especially for teens, post a warning on their door and make them keep it closed. And don't go in without the proper protective gear.
Warnings
- Never walk into a child's room at night when it's pitch black, unless you are wearing shoes.
- Never tell your child that their room is messy and they have to clean it. Just simply play "The Color Game."
- Keep in mind that disorder might be the original nature of man and that you might just be corrupting your child to modern society standards.
